Although there’s nothing wrong with the way the old three-button Genesis control scheme has been mapped to the Xbox 360 (I like that both “X” and the trigger fire), the game itself feels most outdated here. There are just too many things you can’t do; like the inability to fire your gun while in the air or to jump vertically from a hanging position. Is it authentic to the original? Yes. Does that make it less frustrating? No. Fans of the series know what they’re getting into, but newcomers may find these limitations archaic.

As inter-league play rumbles on throughout the land, is there anything truly more inspiring than getting the opportunity to watch the Astros facing off against the Yankees? We could also spin the dial and watch the Blue Jays playing against their arch rival and nemesis the Colorado Rockies. It simply doesn’t get much better than that, does it?

Right now you have a situation where I believe you’d have some serious problems getting value back for Greinke. He is struggling right now (4.06 ERA, with 86 hits allowed in 80 IP). Obviously, this is miles from the standards he set for himself last season. His 1-8 record isn’t going to net you very good returns at this stage of the game.

Your ship handles extremely well, allowing you to safely bob and weave through streams of enemy projectiles. The R1 shoulder button is used to cycle through your three available weapons, but all other functions are mapped to the face buttons. You’ll pretty much hold down “X” throughout — in fact, the game suggests as much early on — and that fires your primary gun. Beyond the three functions of your main gun, there’s also a shockwave and a screen clearing limit attack.

Better yet, he hasn’t really sacrificed any power to achieve this. God damn, I hate the Yankees…as if they needed another .300 hitter. Last night, they continued to feast on the Orioles, beating Baltimore for a tenth straight time to move three games ahead of the Red Sox.
