If there’s an area where MLB The Show 18 lags it’s in signature improvements, but let’s set that aside for the moment and lead with this: moment to moment, pitch to pitch, this is the best and most realistic representation of the game of baseball we’ve ever experienced.

For what should be a fun, enjoyable game that you can jump right into, RBI’s controls have an awfully steep learning curve. Looks can be deceiving. Balls don’t end up where you think they will, nor do players react how you think they should. You can’t remap the controls, which is disappointing, because that might provide some shortcuts that would help you enjoy the game more.

Lacy’s weight made him an easy target (both literally and figuratively), and Anderson did less in 16 games than he did in his final eight in 2014, but Murray gets the nod by split-decision. While both Lacy and Anderson experienced statistical shortfalls, they pale in comparison to Murray, who went from 2,261 total yards and 13 scores to 1,024 and seven.
