Video Game Review: Mini Ninjas Adventures

Ninjas have to be precise, lethal and above all, coordinated — something that isn’t exactly easy to pull off on the Kinect in the first place. Moving left or right moves your character on screen, dodging attacks and also lining up your own. Using a few simple hand gestures changes weapons — for example, reaching over your right shoulder pulls out your sword, left takes out your bow and putting both hands out to the sides switches to ninja stars. Each weapon is used to take out enemies at different distances, utilized by mimicking the real-life action for each one.

Podcast: Buck Naked Truth

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone! While we tried to steer clear of ladders and black cats on this week’s episode of RotoRob’s Fantasy Baseball Weekly Podcast (heard every Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on Blogtalkradio), Buck was doing a little window cleaning — man style. Video Game Review: NCAA Football ’13

Base controls remain consistent with previous releases, but this version does feature some nice tweaks in the passing game. The most welcome is total control passing, which allows you to lead your receivers to open spaces in coverage. Under that same banner is improved ball trajectory so passes can be elevated over the linebackers and dropped down to receivers on the other side. It’s much more realistic that you don’t have to wait for an absolutely clear throwing lane lest an opposing linebacker vaults straight up and picks off the pass. Receivers aren’t instantly anticipating throws this year, either, which is smartly represented by the icon over their heads not lighting up until they’re ready.
