Dear RotoRob: Greinke or Marcum?
Right now you have a situation where I believe you’d have some serious problems getting value back for Greinke. He is struggling right now (4.06 ERA, with 86 hits allowed in 80 IP). Obviously, this is miles from the standards he set for himself last season. His 1-8 record isn’t going to net you very good returns at this stage of the game.

Better yet, he hasn’t really sacrificed any power to achieve this. God damn, I hate the Yankees…as if they needed another .300 hitter. Last night, they continued to feast on the Orioles, beating Baltimore for a tenth straight time to move three games ahead of the Red Sox.

Johnson got off to a great start, but has regressed to his norm as of late, which isn’t all that bad of a norm. Hart, meanwhile, is on fire and absolutely tearing the cover off the ball. I’d go with Hart right now and have him active to take advantage of his current hot streak, fully knowing that at some point in time all good things do come to an end.

Detroit Tigers Bullpen Report
The Detroit Tigers have lost a bit of ground in the AL Central recently, slipping 3.5 games behind division leading Minnesota. Fortunately, they remain five up on the third place White Sox, but with the Wild Card gap growing for Detroit, the team’s best chance to make the playoffs is looking more and more like it will have to come via a division crown.

The Wire Troll: Don’t Meddle on Medlen
The 24-year-old Arrieta is next in line to get the call. In 71 IP at Triple-A Norfolk, he’s posted a 6-2 record while allowing 45 hits and 34 walks and striking out 62. In an interesting bit of news, Arrieta pitched two innings in a relief role on Saturday. Is this a tune-up for a promotion to the Orioles this week? I think so, and those in AL-only and deeper formats should take the plunge and get him rostered for the upcoming period.
