Blu-ray Review: In the Heart of the Sea

Visually, the film has moments that are really impressive. While a few of the scenes — the dolphins alongside the whaling boats, Nantucket in the distance of Chase’s home — fall randomly flat with their CGI, the work done on the white whale is first rate. Seeing it dive beneath the boat and turn it into kindling looks excellent, as do its other appearances. The sense of scale between all the whales and the boats really drives home how dangerous this profession was.

Video Game Review: Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch DLC

Easily the highlight of Baba Yaga, however, is the final battle. It’s unlike anything we saw in Rise, weaving in the mystical elements to create a heartier enemy to square off against. Video Game Review: This War of Mine: The Little Ones

Accomplishing that task is anything but simple, however, as you’ll need to maximize resources, scavenge for food, weapons and more, defend your home, barter with other survivors, treat wounds, find time to rest and so on.

Blu-ray Review: The 33

Quite frankly, the fact that these men survived under the circumstances is amazing, and it’s cool that the film brings their struggle to light. Even if some of them seem artificial, there are a lot of emotionally charged moments that may have you blinking away tears. As trite as it is to say, The 33 has an unbelievable and inspiring story to tell about the human spirit. On that front, it largely succeeds.
