Baltimore was actually winning a few games before this most recent downward spiral, so have actually pulled within 15.5 games of the Blue Jays. Hey, I’m trying to be nice here.

The vehicular modes tend to be hit or miss. I enjoyed transforming in tight quarters to zoom around the battlefield, but I didn’t think it held up as well during longer sequences. The pseudo on-rails elements of flying make it a bit confusing as to where you can maneuver, and it always seemed like the cars were hovering slightly above the ground without any feel for the road.

The 23-year-old lefty, a second rounder way back in 2005, finally made his MLB debut Thursday and what a start it was — seven strong innings of two-hit, two-run ball at Wrigley Field. Armed with a great changeup, Wood should prove to be a useful option for at least another start or two. Note that even if he loses his job to Volquez, there’s a chance Wood could be packaged in a deal as the Reds plan to be buyers at the deadline. Should that happen, Wood will head to a team where he will almost assuredly be given a chance to pitch every fifth day in a non-pressure situation.

You are one of the many Fantasy players that got hurt badly by Boston’s West Coast follies this week. Losing Pedroia is going to hurt so I’d keep my eyes open for a 2B type, but would imagine it is probably very thin on the waiver wire at that slot. For the most part, I like your team. You have a good balance of speed and power on offense, but I do agree that your pitching could use a few tweaks.

Well, he’s still enjoying his finest season in years, but after getting roughed up by the Dodgers this week, a distinct trend has emerged. Pettitte went 3-0, 2.12 in April, 4-1, 2.87 in May and 2-1, 3.18 in June. Certainly there’s no immediate reason for his owners to panic – I mean, the dude has 11 quality starts in 15 tries — but it’s a situation worth noting for those thinking of selling high on the veteran hurler. You might want to wait until after Pettitte’s next start Saturday in Toronto. While the Jays have had a solid offense this year – especially at home, they are the coldest hitting team in the AL over the last week and rank dead last in OPS against lefties this season.
