A converted quarterback, Pryor was one of the few bright spots in Cleveland last year, posting a 77-1,007-4 line despite the veritable poo-poo platter that took snaps for the Browns in 2016. Personnel folks remained skeptical, however, and he signed a one-year deal in Washington to help offset some high-profile defections at the position.

Speaking of mileage, Peterson is the biggest name on this list, but he’s stepping into a timeshare situation in a pass-first offense, so it goes without saying his value will be undercut significantly. He led the NFL in rushing as recently as 2014 and drew rave reviews in training camp. Then again, what high-profile signing doesn’t?

Then again, for all the credit Cook seemed to garner for the Packers’ offensive resurgence, his own production was modest outside of a few games. He has the size and skill to be a force, but owners might remember him a little too fondly from his playoff run (18-229-2) as opposed to his regular season exploits (30-377-1). He’s backup fodder.

Griffin has now made 12 starts in the last three years combined, and it’s telling in a league starving for good quarterback play that nobody has seen fit to roll the dice on RG3. That’ll change, of course, and he’ll probably end up in some 1A/1B situation with another fringe option… kinda like last year. Steer clear.

But at this stage, we’re not just talking about an impressive rookie season; Prescott has been one of the best QBs in the league. He’s fourth in pass percentage and fifth in rating. More importantly, Dallas is 5-1.

A year ago, Franchise Mode’s biggest addition was dynamic drive goals… only they weren’t really all that dynamic, often making little sense in relation to game situations. This year, franchise not only polishes up that aspect by adhering to things like score and time remaining, but it also receives some serious (and overdue) TLC aimed at garnering and maintaining your interest across multiple seasons.

Underclassmen hoping to gain entry to the NFL Draft are in the midst of applying for eligibility, and in just a few weeks the process will be underway. By late January we’ll know the full list of draft entrants, and a month later the NFL Combine will be held. This is the time for prospects who might not be as well known, or who might even be doubted by folks in the NFL to make their moves and climb higher on the draft boards.
