The White Sox got swept in Detroit this weekend, but they weren’t just beaten – they were humiliated 21-3 over the three games, getting shut out the last two games and running their current skid to 10 losses in 11 games. Things don’t get any easier with a four-game set on tap in New York against a Yankee team that’s in first in the AL East and has played quite well lately.

It’s time to give your waiver wire a scan just in case someone in your league gave up and cut bait on Freeman. In his past 10 games, he’s smacking the ball to the tune of a .357 BA with three homers and six RBI, while displaying the skills that made him one of the top pre-season candidates for NL ROY honours. Freeman should be owned and active in all formats heading into Week Four.

Although the game features a typical first-person shooter setup, there are some hiccups — both on foot and in vehicles — which hold it back. Running and gunning should feel instantly familiar, but I don’t care for jumping/jetpacking being mapped to the same button, especially when it’s the left bumper. Saving “A” to interact with objects seems unnecessary when practically every shooter uses it to jump. It just feels counterintuitive.

As in the original, the left/right triggers are used to fire the two different portals. Your character can also jump (A) and interact with objects (X), but that’s it for single player. In multiplayer you’ll have access to more commands, including a countdown clock, some rudimentary emotions accessed with the d-pad and a function that paints a target so that your partner knows where to look or fire their portal. It’s simple and effectively done.

On Tuesday, the Rays edged the White Sox 2-1 for their seventh win in the past eight games, but Upton took an 0-for-4, striking out twice with runners in scoring position. He’s now mired in a 2-for-21 skid over the past six games.

Of greater interest, he’s walked just twice in that span after drawing a whopping 10 walks in the first six games of the season. Clearly, pitchers are not being as careful with Bautista as they were to begin the campaign.
