That’s really all there is to the controls. Push the Move’s trigger button to activate flashlight movement, get it to the spot that you want, then let go of the trigger and let your guy do the walking. It’s simple but it doesn’t feel gimmicky (unlike some of the other Move launch titles), perhaps because everything about the game is focused on subtlety.

Some two decades later, an “authentic” version has been released. How has it aged? Not well. Not well at all, and really, there could have been a little bit done to make this a much more enjoyable experience. As it stands, this is probably one of the worst gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

The backgrounds and environments are standard, not spectacular, especially considering how detailed we’ve seen games in the past year or two. Enemies are generic, details such as snow and weather flicker on and off, and even cut scenes have glitches where environment texture details load seconds after they come on screen.

That’s really all you need to do to get through the game. Like I said, it’s old-school through and through, and if you somehow hooked up your old hefty Genesis controller to your PS3 or XBox 360, it’d feel like you stepped through a time warp.

As you’re in Fortune City (basically, Las Vegas), the backgrounds and environments are all what you expect. There are bright, garish colours, some with animated lights and flashing messages. Hey, it’s Vegas…err…Fortune City, right? The colourful designs and obnoxious backgrounds match the situation perfectly, and even though these might not be the most detailed environments we’ve seen in recent gaming, there will still be no question about where you are.

One minor graphical annoyance: much of the game’s text is in Old English font, which makes it pretty much impossible to easily read. If you’re stuck with a smaller TV, this will prove to be particularly irritating.
