Interview: Mike Brown: From Linebacker to Lines of Code

After earning All-American honours as the ACC’s leading tackler as a senior, this linebacker went undrafted in 2009. The Indianapolis Colts penned Brown (who changed his last name to Tauiliili in college, but goes by Brown in his post-playing professional career) to a two-deal, but he never made it off the practice squad and was ultimately cut in early-September 2009.

Video Game Review: Mafia III

While the broad strokes of Mafia III are a pretty basic revenge story, the interplay between characters and their development, along with the unique documentary style retelling, is exceptionally well done. The performances in those sections are notable for their subtlety and authenticity, which makes you want to keep playing to see where the story goes next.

Blu-ray Review: Star Trek Beyond

Although the original series was heavy on exploration, the movie franchise has done a good job of throttling up the combat. That’s the case once again here, and the action sequences, whether on land or in space, are well choreographed and engaging. The initial encounter between the Enterprise and the pulsating mass of ships that comprise the enemy force is particularly impressive from a technical standpoint.

Video Game Review: WWE 2k17

Unfortunately, the biggest change between last year’s version and this one is the loss of 2k Showcase, which had allowed you to play through some of WWE’s biggest moments and hottest feuds in previous years. For long-time fans it was a nice blast of nostalgia accompanied by impeccable video packages that highlighted the lead up to matches and situations. It’s greatly missed.
