The Wire Troll: Back to Business

Perez is currently owned in only 29 per cent of CBS leagues and for the life of me I can’t understand why it’s so few. He’s been extremely effective even when not closing games for the Indians, and Saturday he earned his eighth save of the season against the Tigers. Perez has the closer gig for at least the next two weeks so get him rostered in all formats and if and when Wood does reappear, continue to keep Perez rostered, as his next opportunity to earn saves for Cleveland won’t be that far down the road.

Dear RotoRob: Time to Cut S-Rod?

The two names that definitely stand out on your list are Beckham and Lopez. Both have struggled in the first half but are historically solid options at second base. Beckham went 2-for-3 with his fourth homer Thursday and looks to be heating up. Lopez has struggled, but don’t forget that just last year he managed 25 long balls and 96 RBI. He is also rumoured to be on the move with the Phillies being the suitors. A move to that park and the supporting offense could be huge for Lopez.

The Wire Troll: Break it Down

It’s All-Star break time. Enjoy the festivities, but at the same time take this opportunity to do a thorough analysis of your Fantasy teams. The second half is just around the corner and plotting a solid strategy for the final portion of the season should be first and foremost on our minds. Remember folks, this great game is very quickly turning from a marathon into a sprint and making solid plans is imperative when attempting to achieve that goal of victory, only a scant ten weeks down the road.

Dear RotoRob: Any Roster Suggestions?

You are one of the many Fantasy players that got hurt badly by Boston’s West Coast follies this week. Losing Pedroia is going to hurt so I’d keep my eyes open for a 2B type, but would imagine it is probably very thin on the waiver wire at that slot. For the most part, I like your team. You have a good balance of speed and power on offense, but I do agree that your pitching could use a few tweaks.

The Wire Troll: Cuckoo for Coco Crisp

Yes, the same player that the Mariners didn’t offer more than a one year deal to last fall is now back in the fold. What’s up in Seattle? The Mariners had Branyan, let him go to the Tribe in the offseason and have now got him back when they’re 14 games out? Either $5 million doesn’t buy a whole lot at first base or the Mariners have a few more problems than I have the time to discuss right now.
