The Wire Troll: Michael Beasley Going Beastly

When he’s given the chance, how many sporadic double-doubles does O’Quinn have to get before we all take him seriously? He’s now notched back-to-back double-doubles in points and rebounds, with one of them coming in just 24 minutes of action (that’s half the standard duration of a game, folks). We don’t have to tell you what to do at this point.

The Wire Troll: Patrick Maroon Gushing for Oilers

Young puck-moving blueliner Beaulieau is starting to flex his offensive muscles, potting a goal and two power play assists on Wednesday, giving him a 1-4-5, +3 line over the last four games. Seeing time on the first power play unit is sure to get this kid’s numbers rocking, and the fact he’s now +15 on the season (tied for 15th in the NHL) is a serious bonus.

The Wire Troll: Willie Reed Taking Advantage of Extra PT

Hardaway has been on fire in the last week, canning 12 treys in three games, while scoring at least 12 points in each contest. He’s getting more starts this season, and has responded with arguably the finest effort of his four-year career. But given Hardaway’s cap hit, the Hawks are looking to peddle him, so depending on where he lands, he could be in for a boost. At the very least, Atlanta is showcasing him now, beefing up his value for the time being and making him a nice waiver add for those seeking an injection of scoring and three pointers.

The Wire Troll: Michael Carter-Williams Stepping up in Chicago

Ross tends to periodically tease Fantasy owners with his talent and he’s on one of those streaks now, having seen a big uptick in action over the last two games. And what’s up with 10 steals over his past three games? Holy Thievery Corporation, Batman! Ross has been used exclusively off the pine this season, which makes owning him a crap shoot from game to game, but he has never shot it better (46.5 per cent from the field; almost 41 per cent from downtown), and he’s doing his best work at the line as well. Still, the fact that his MPG has dropped three straight seasons does not bode well for a young player trying to earn his stripes in the NBA.

The Wire Troll: Marcus Foligno Moves to Top Line

Before getting shut out on Thursday, Smith had been blazing, potting three goals (including a shorty) with three assists over the previous three games, going +6 in the process. After a very quiet November, he’s now recorded eight points in 11 games this month, and after his career best +16 last season, he’s headed in the right direction now, bumping his +/- to the positive side of the ledger at +5. Ottawa’s third rounder from 2008 is unlikely to touch last season’s 25-goal breakout, but at least he’s shaken off the cobwebs and put himself back on the Fantasy radar.
