Could Bronson Arroyo be facing his first ever DL stint? (Charlie Leight/azcentral sports)

RotoRob Fantasy Baseball Weekly Podcast, heard every Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on Blogtalkradio, was in full throttle mode this week, with RotoRob once again accompanied by Bob Raymond.

Among the topics the pair dissected were:

  • RotoRob reaches 3,625 articles!
  • Bob believes Wade Davis would be better served pitching out of the bullpen for the Royals.
  • We analyze Dennis Eckersley’s value as a starter compared to what he did as a reliever.
  • Why does Hanley Ramirez get blackballed as being injury prone, when Troy Tulowitzki is far worse?
  • RotoRob was so impressed by how Xander Bogaerts never had that deer in the headlights look on the big stage of the World Series.
  • The details of Johan Santana’s contract with the Orioles.
  • Bob is disappointed that the Tigers didn’t do a better job of replacing Andy Dirks in left field.
  • RotoRob recounts the pain that shin splints cause. Ouch!!
  • Could Jake Peavy have to start the season on the DL?
  • Youngster Ramon Flores showed a little something-something for the Yankees, but he’s buried behind a lot of outfield prospect in the organization.
  • We reminisce about how good Kevin Youkilis used to be before it all fell apart.

The Wire Troll: Kent Bazemore Making an Impression

March 1, 2014 | by Bob Raymond | Comments Comments Off on The Wire Troll: Kent Bazemore Making an Impression
Now is your last chance to potentially buy low on Suns guard Eric Bledsoe. The talented combo guard, who suffered a knee injury several weeks ago, is close to returning to the lineup and could be back early next week. If your league’s trade deadline hasn’t passed or you’re in a super shallow league in which Bledsoe might still be available via the waiver wire (97.5 per cent owned in ESPN leagues), don’t hesitate to take action!

The Wire Troll: Nick Calathes is a Hidden Gem

February 15, 2014 | by Bob Raymond | Comments (0)
If you’re in keeper league, this is an urgent alert to get McCollum on your team. He was the star of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas after being the 10th overall pick by Portand last year. Unfortunately for McCollum, he suffered a broken foot and missed the first 36 games of his career. Now that he’s finding his legs and the nuances of the NBA, he’s putting up decent Fantasy numbers as of late. Playing time will likely hinder McCollum from being a major factor the remainder of the way but watch out in future seasons.
