Of course, the other dude that stands to benefit from Jackson being shipped out is Smith. Given that he’s got a long-term contract, Smith might be handed the keys to the offense in Detroit, but again — either way — he’s in line for a boost in PT. Even as the backup, he’s developed some nice chemistry and at times has done a better job than Jackson of running the Piston attack. Smith has put up double-digit scoring efforts in four of the last five games despite getting over 21 minutes of action just once. That’s efficiency, people. So imagine what he’d do with a consistent 25 to 30 minutes.

After showing signs of breaking out in 2014-15, it’s pretty much been all downhill for the seventh overall pick from 2013. However, before we completely write McLemore off as a bust, it’s worth pointing out that lately he’s been jacking them up from downtown as a ridiculous pace, canning 9-of-15 from beyond the arc over the last two games. On Friday, he narrowly missed a double-double while adding four steals, and last week he showed signs that he could get to the line more often. Slowly, but surely, McLemore’s game is forming. Perhaps it’s worth picking him up to see if he’s simply a late bloomer.

This 19-year-old rookie has thrust himself into the limelight suddenly, showing tremendous pick-and-roll skills and a much-better shooting touch in recent games. With back-to-back double-doubles (and three over the last five games), plus excellent FT shooting for a young big man, Zubac is proving worthy of Fantasy consideration.

The Wire Troll: Iman Shumpert is the Man in Cleveland

Olynyk took a step backward last season as he dealt with a shoulder woe that ultimately required surgery, and this season he’s slipped even further despite the fact he’s starting a bit more often and seeing slightly more PT. However, in recent games the Canadian big showed some serious signs of life, shooting the lights out last weekend for 26 points and then following that up with a 15-point, nine-rebound effort on Monday. In his most recent game, Olynyk was mostly stapled to the bench, which highlights the difficulties of using players that only start periodically, but productive centres are tough to find, so if you can ride out the duds, give him a look.

When he’s given the chance, how many sporadic double-doubles does O’Quinn have to get before we all take him seriously? He’s now notched back-to-back double-doubles in points and rebounds, with one of them coming in just 24 minutes of action (that’s half the standard duration of a game, folks). The Wire Troll: Willie Reed Taking Advantage of Extra PT

Hardaway has been on fire in the last week, canning 12 treys in three games, while scoring at least 12 points in each contest. He’s getting more starts this season, and has responded with arguably the finest effort of his four-year career. But given Hardaway’s cap hit, the Hawks are looking to peddle him, so depending on where he lands, he could be in for a boost. At the very least, Atlanta is showcasing him now, beefing up his value for the time being and making him a nice waiver add for those seeking an injection of scoring and three pointers.
