While Minter is having the better season, Smith has a much longer track record as a closer, and he bounced back nicely in June after a somewhat rough May. While Smith is still seeking his first win of the season (he’s never had a winless campaign in his career), he has managed this year to consolidate his ERA improvements from 2021. We think these gains are real based on him trimming both his flyball and line drive rates.

How about a 2.82 ERA and .226 BAA for June? At this point, Keller has worked his way into a streaming option, albeit still a high risk one, but one that seems to be coming into his own — finally (recall that he’s been on the prospect radar since 2016, so this is a breakout we’ve been waiting on forever). At the very least, we expect him to be a rotation mainstay capable of gobbling up innings.

Before this outing, Stripling’s control had been superb, as he had yet to walk a batter through 13 2/3 IP this month. As always, he’s employing that nice sinking fastball to rack up even more groundballs than usual. Stripling needs to be picked up in all formats, pronto!

At the very least, Perdomo has shown great glovework all over the infield and on Tuesday he smoked a grand salami for his first big league dinger. He racked up a ton of runs, showed flashes of a solid hit tool and displayed nice speed over his minor league career and is still just 22, so there could be some nice upside here.
