MLB Today: Lonnie Chisenhall Has Found His Niche

Yes, Chisenhall will mostly sit against lefties (so bear that in mind in daily move leagues), but the fact he still qualifies at third base is a nice bonus, for the rest of the season anyways. Despite starting the year on the DL, he’s seen more action and has responded with a slugging percentage more fitting for a corner outfielder. Chisenhall seems to have found his niche as a solid platoon player, and the fact that he’s on the strong side of it gives him some value.

The Wire Troll: Greg Garcia Providing Depth

All the injuries on the Dodger rotation have forced the team to be creative, and they have now turned to prospect De Leon to make his MLB debut on Sunday. Judging by his stellar work at Triple-A (7-1, 2.61 in 16 starts with 11.6 K/9), this kid is ready for the challenge. We love the fact that De Leon has improved his ERA with the move from Double-A to Triple-A, but it’s worth noting that his FIP numbers between those two levels are a lot closer. Still, his recall is a very Fantasy relevant event, so pounce while you can.

MLB Today: Freddie Freeman Finally Producing

He’s hit safely in eight straight and is drawing plenty of walks, too, with four over the three-game sweep of the Padres — Atlanta’s first home sweep all season. Freeman had an amazing August with nine homers, 24 RBI and a .313/.460/.688 slash line, and he’s clearly not cooling off now that the calendar has flipped. In a lost season for the Braves, what has arguably been a career year for him really stands out.
