Video Game Review: Nex Machina

And that’s what Nex Machina is all about: improvement. The game is packed to the gills with challenge as each ascending difficulty adds more enemies, makes them spawn and move faster, and all the while reduces the number of continues you have. Anyone can bull their way through the first two difficulties though sheer force of will. After that, you better be ready to invest some time.

Blu-ray Review: CHiPs

Typically cast in secondary roles, Pena shows he can handle an expanded presence and displays more comedic talent than we thought he had. Most of the film’s best stuff revolves around him, and he somehow manages to be the more competent one and the funnier one, even if much of the comedy is raunchy. Hopefully this opens new doors for Pena.

From there the game becomes one of discovery as you attempt to piece together the events that have led to mimics gaining control of the station, including their origins, the experiments and innovation taking place on Talos I, your brother’s culpability in said events and your own as well. It’s an interesting journey, one that takes a few twists and turns along the way.

Video Game Review: Tokyo 42

Tokyo 42 tells its story, such as it is, through a series of primary and side missions. Successfully complete one and you’ll earn money and/or reputation points, which serve as a gatekeeper to progression by keeping areas and missions off limits until you acquire enough of a rep. This ensures that you’ll take on at least some of the secondary activities rather than blitz through the game.

It’s difficult to not see The Karate Kid when watching American Wrestler. Like, very difficult. Ali is the new kid in town that runs afoul of the school’s bullies. Plyler is the kindly war veteran that takes him under his wing and teaches him. Kristi (Lia Marie Johnson) is the popular girl that falls for the new kid, enraging all the jocks even more in the process…
