2015 RotoRob Hockey Awards

Hodgson scored just six goals and 13 points in 78 games last season, notching a league 11th-worst minus-28 rating. It was by far his worst season ever. This season, Hodgson was doing slightly better with three goals, eight points and a plus-2 rating in 39 games with a much better team in Nashville. Still, he was only on pace for 14 points in 66 games, so in the middle of January, the Preds waived him. He’s currently toiling in the AHL. Woof. Dud.

The Wire Troll: Tyler Bozak Paces Leafs

When we last left Bozak, he was on pace for a career season with three goals, 12 points and a minus-2 rating in 17 games. Now with 29 under his belt, he’s got eight goals, 23 points and a plus-3 rating to go with eight penalty minutes and 49 shots on goal. That’s right — in a full 82-game season, Bozak is on pace for 65 points! Will he get there? The Wire Troll: Sam Reinhart Tips the Sabres’ Sword

“Coots” is one of the league’s hottest players over the last week, scoring two goals and four points with a plus-5 rating, two penalty minutes, eight shots on goal, a hit and four blocked shots. Philly is 6-2-2 in its past 10 games, but still three points out of a playoff spot in the East if the postseason started today. Still, even if the team continues to inexplicably struggle to beat crap teams in its own building, Flyers fans, players and coaching staff now have something to feel good about, and Fantasy GMs should, too.

The Wire Troll: Dale Weise Breaks Out For Habs

We seem to include Nielsen in our listings every October or November and then, as soon as we hit “publish,” he instantly stops producing. *Facepalm* We’re willing to take that risk, because he’s been just too good to ignore. Through 11 games played, Nielsen has five goals, nine points, a power play goal, 31 shots on goal, six hits and 13 blocked shots. Knowing our luck, that’s now all he’ll get for the season.

The Wire Troll: Cam Atkinson Shining in Columbus

The Sabres may be in full “McEichel Mode,” but don’t tell Gionta that. An experienced NHL captain, he’s not one to give up and quit, and his performance last week proves it: in three games, Gionta had three goals, four points, a minus-3 rating, three power play points, 18 shots on goal, eight face-offs won, three hits and four blocked shots.
