Week Seven Notes: Roddy White is Unstoppable

Speaking of four, that’s the same number of consecutive games that Cutler has struggled. If he hadn’t had those big first two weeks, his numbers would be even worse than last year. But what’s really scary for Cutler owners is that he endured one of his lamest games of the season against the NFL’s worst pass defense in Washington. To make matters worse, Cutler also fumbled on first and goal from the one yard line. D’oh! And next week, he has to travel to Buffalo to face the Bills, owners of one of the best pass defenses in the league. As if going to Buffalo for any reason isn’t bad enough, imagine having to head there knowing you’re going to struggle to generate an air attack? Cutler is winding up on some waiver wires in shallow leagues, and it’s a trend that may gain more steam after Week Eight.

Video Game Review: Invasion DLC

After sticking to World War I for its source material to this point, Signal Studios goes in another direction with Invasion by introducing more playful units. The basic story is that the British are desperate, and they’re launching an all-out offensive against the Germans (that’s you) with the aid of non-military (fire trucks) and futuristic (flying saucers, space tanks and more) toys.

Video Game Review: Dead Rising 2

As you’re in Fortune City (basically, Las Vegas), the backgrounds and environments are all what you expect. There are bright, garish colours, some with animated lights and flashing messages. Hey, it’s Vegas…err…Fortune City, right? The colourful designs and obnoxious backgrounds match the situation perfectly, and even though these might not be the most detailed environments we’ve seen in recent gaming, there will still be no question about where you are.

2010 ALCS: Texas Pushes Through

The ten-year contract he signed way back in February 2001 expires at the end of the World Series, making Jeter a free agent. Though it’s widely assumed the Yankees will re-sign their captain, the overrated shortstop still faces the prospect of having to negotiate a new deal with the only team he’s ever been employed by.

Video Game Review: Vanquish

Everything controls crisply with weapons providing ample recoil. My lone complaint is boosting while manually slowing time can be a bit cumbersome when you’ve got to adjust the camera as well. This leads to instances where you get too close to enemies or waste precious AR seconds trying to simultaneously manipulate the camera and aim.

2010 ALCS: Nelson Cruz is Good to Go

Considering he missed a third of the season, and that he mostly hit out of the five or six hole, the 60 runs he scored this season is a very impressive total. And no one will quibble with that robust 950 OPS. A flyball hitter, Cruz likely would have matched his home run total from 2009 had he not gotten hurt. And once he returned in September, he really was on cruise control, batting .327 with six homers, 14 RBI and 21 runs for the month.
