The Wire Troll: Iman Shumpert is the Man in Cleveland

Olynyk took a step backward last season as he dealt with a shoulder woe that ultimately required surgery, and this season he’s slipped even further despite the fact he’s starting a bit more often and seeing slightly more PT. However, in recent games the Canadian big showed some serious signs of life, shooting the lights out last weekend for 26 points and then following that up with a 15-point, nine-rebound effort on Monday. In his most recent game, Olynyk was mostly stapled to the bench, which highlights the difficulties of using players that only start periodically, but productive centres are tough to find, so if you can ride out the duds, give him a look.

The Wire Troll: Michael Beasley Going Beastly

When he’s given the chance, how many sporadic double-doubles does O’Quinn have to get before we all take him seriously? He’s now notched back-to-back double-doubles in points and rebounds, with one of them coming in just 24 minutes of action (that’s half the standard duration of a game, folks). We don’t have to tell you what to do at this point.

Philadelphia Phillies 2017 Season Preview

The offense in 2016 was anemic. The team finished 29th in the majors in hitting (.240), last in runs scored (610), 28th in hits (1,305), 24th in home runs (161), last in RBI (574), 29th in walks (424), 29th in OBP (.301), 29th in SLG (.384), last in OPS (.685) and seventh in strikeouts (1,376). So, it’s safe to say the offense can only go upwards.

The Wire Troll: Patrick Maroon Gushing for Oilers

Young puck-moving blueliner Beaulieau is starting to flex his offensive muscles, potting a goal and two power play assists on Wednesday, giving him a 1-4-5, +3 line over the last four games. Seeing time on the first power play unit is sure to get this kid’s numbers rocking, and the fact he’s now +15 on the season (tied for 15th in the NHL) is a serious bonus.
