As nice as the surroundings look, the cars are the main attraction with photo-realistic representations of hundreds of makes and models. If we may dip into our Fury Road vocabulary, everything here is both shiny and chrome. Video Game Review: Zombi

Although the game’s roots on a less powerful console are clear from start to finish, Zombi at least does a good job in creating an unsettling atmosphere. There’s a graininess and something of a greenish hue to the many semi-lit areas you encounter, and limited sight is always a smart way to build anxiety. There’s ample blood and bursting body parts as well, helping to maintain the gore factor that the survival horror genre is known for.

Video Game Review: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Kojima Productions has managed to top other open-world games in terms of controls. Movement is much smoother than Assassin’s Creed and combat is much more fluid than Grand Theft Auto. This may be partially due to the areas’ sparse population (it’s really just guards, vehicles and wildlife), but regardless, the controls are among the smoothest of this generation and allow you to easily adapt Snake’s infiltration style to whatever you prefer.

Video Game Review: Madden NFL ’16

Let’s get right to it: the passing game has never been better in Madden. For years, quarterbacks have thrown bullet passes or lobs. This year EA has added three new types of options to choose from. There’s the touch pass (double tap) for dropping balls in between coverage, the high throw for exploiting a size mismatch and a low ball in which the receiver can shield off defenders — the latter is especially useful on short routes in traffic and curls.
