The Wire Troll: Jared Sullinger Soaring to New Heights

The highly regarded prospect from Ohio State is showing marked improvement in his second NBA season as he becomes a force in the paint. Sullinger is shooting an impressive .526 from the floor and .864 from the charity stripe. In his last three games, he has registered 17.3 points per game including 26 on Friday against Portland – a great sign after he had missed the previous game with a knee injury. Sprinkle in seven rebounds per contest over this stretch and you have a productive Fantasy power forward.

The Wire Troll: Introducing Rishard Matthews

So, Ingram rattled off some impressive runs on Sunday night and he even found the end zone for the first time since Week 16 of last season. We also must remind you that the Saints were leading by three scores and Dallas was missing its top two middle linebackers. Ingram did see some touches early but his emotions were clearly distracting him, perhaps because this was only the fourth game he’s appeared in this season. The running back position is so desperately thin this season that many will bid high for Ingram. He does, after all, wear Russell Athletic (see video below).

The Wire Troll: Remembering the Vets

Michalek does two things very well: He plays tough minutes and he blocks shots. Honestly, that is it. When you have 54 blocks (over three per game) and can log 22-to-23 minutes per game, we’d suggest you’re a nice little find for a fourth or fifth defenseman in your Fantasy leagues. Hey, it could be worse after all. With an ownership rate around 10 per cent, Michalek is worth a flyer. Veterans like these are needed for every Fantasy hockey team.

The Wire Troll: Markieff Morris is a Rising Sun

Chalmers has made it known that he intends to lead the league in steals and his 2.5 per game average is certainly impressive. In addition, Super Mario is averaging 5.2 assists. The fact that he’s 12-for-22 (55 per cent) from three-point land should motivate owners even further. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s a tough dude, as you can see from the video below.

The Wire Troll: Coby Fleener Showing Steady Growth

We shouted to the heavens that this Texan had Rookie of the Year spray painted all over him. Then he was showered with a trending reality, a concussion. That was in the preseason and it may still be affecting him. Hopkins has had some big games, but he’s had some duds as well. Such is the life of a rookie. He was supposed to take the pressure off Johnson and apparently the Colts respected Hopkins enough to let Johnson destroy them for two quarters. Now Johnson will be a marked man and that leaves room for Hopkins to flash us the same brilliance that made us fall in love with him in the first place.
