David Price has moved into the rotation for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Wire Troll: David Price Returns to Rotation

Well, after guiding the team to 91 wins in 2018, it’s been all downhill since, and despite a recent strong stretch by the Rox, they sit in fourth place in NL West, well back of the top three. Unless this team finally delivers some clutch hitting on the road and has a huge second half, Black’s tenure with the team may soon be coming to a close.

Kyle Muller has looked really strong in the Atlanta Braves rotation.

The Wire Troll: Kyle Muller Kicking Ass

Well, the righty flamed out as a starter in the minors, shifting to the bullpen midway through 2017, where he found much more success. Now suddenly, the Marlins have turned Thompson back into a starter and all he’s done is put up a 1.50 ERA with 25 Ks (12.5 K/9) through four starts. His walk rate is up in the majors, but he’s yet to serve up a dinger so it hasn’t come back to bite him. Give Thompson a look if you need pitching help.

Kolby Allard is performing well in the Texas Rangers rotation.

The Wire Troll: Kolby Allard Makes Successful Move to Rotation

Duran is on a roll, having drilled six long balls over his last dozen games at Triple-A, so the time to add him is now. In addition to his power spike this year, he’s averaging nearly a run per game and hitting for a very fine BA (which is nothing new — he’s a .318 hitter over his minor league career). The Wire Troll: Matt Beaty Gets Meaty Opportunity

He signed with Boston as a free agent last offseason, and while things were shaky at the outset (485 OPS in April), he enjoyed a very productive May before coming back to usual career levels this month. No, Renfroe is not hitting with the same extra-base sock this season, but his K rate is at a career low, and that’s an approach that should help him get back to his 2018-19 levels. Grab him in all formats.

Brendan Rodgers is getting another shot to stick with the Colorado Rockies.

The Wire Troll: Brendan Rodgers Trying to Break Bust Label

Adrianza isn’t exactly seizing his opportunity either, but at least he had drawn walks in three straight (adding a hit on Wednesday) and putting up another hit Friday. He’s actually already seen nearly as much action as he did last year with the Twins and he’s hitting better. Not great… but better. Adrianza has definitely shown he can provide periodic offensive sparks off the bench, but as a starter, there are questions. Still, as a short-term option in a very deep NL-only league, he’s worth a flier.
