It is always fun to look at sleepers because if you are wrong, you can simply declare a mulligan. However, if you are right, it’s like a trump card. The best part of sleepers is the debate it sparks. There are others that will be missed here, but some had to be left out given that it’s a top 10 (not top 25) list.

The centre position is undoubtedly the deepest in Fantasy hockey. You likely can miss out on landing one of the top 10 and still fare pretty well in your Fantasy draft. No other position boasts that claim or can really come close. Be on the lookout for multi-positional players — especially down the middle — because they will be just a bit rarer this season.

As for the players and arenas, well, you’ve seen it all before. I’m guessing EA Sports has maxxed out what it can do for this console generation, and we’ll have to wait until next year to see just how much further developers can push graphics.

This 18-year-old centre will try to turn around the fortunes of an organization still stinging after its monumental Game Seven collapse against Boston. The Leafs got good value, landing the 6’5″, 210-pounder this late. Gauthier’s stock was rising leading up the draft, yet he wound up falling on draft day.

The Jets’ selection of Morrissey this early surprised many, but the 6’0″, 175-pound blueliner has quietly established himself as a top prospect with his skating skills and superior mobility. He’s got some mad offensive skills from the point (as you can see in the video below), so don’t sleep on this kid.
