The Wire Troll: Roy Helu on Top in Washington… For Now

The ‘Fins offense is lethargic at best, but Carpenter has still managed to knock home seven field goals in his last four outings. In Week 10, Miami plays host to the Redskins, who have surrendered the most points to opposing kickers this year. Don’t count on Carpenter to be a season-long option, but he’s definitely worth rolling out there against the ‘Skins.

The Wire Troll: Matt Cassel a Good Bet This Week

He’s big, he’s fast and he can flat-out play. The rookie missed the first six games of the season recovering from a thumb injury, but he exploded on Monday for five catches, 82 yards and a touchdown against San Diego. The Chiefs grabbed this guy in the first round for a reason, and he should see plenty of targets from here on out. Go get him.

Video Game Review: Kinect Sports Season Two

It’s tough to assign a blanket number to a collection of mini games that each control differently, but as a group they hold up pretty well. The sensor tracked my movements nicely, and with few exceptions it kept the action moving when people shuffled in and out during multiplayer sessions. I did find navigating some of the menus to be overly finicky, though, particularly when skipping tutorials and celebrations. Voice commands are also available and work as designed.

The Wire Troll: John Beck Making Progress in D.C.

Injuries have played a huge role in shaping the Fantasy football landscape this season, and this week the Washington Redskins took an especially hard hit, losing both their top runner and receiver to maladies that will sideline them for an extended period. The backfield situations in Arizona and Denver are also in flux, so opportunities for waiver-wire wizardry abound in these three locales. Elsewhere, many quality players may be sitting on your league wire as a result of being dropped for their bye weeks; be sure to have a close look and make that claim if you see a player that can help your Fantasy cause.

The Wire Troll: Christian Ponder Gets the Call in Minny

That second-rounder will become a first if the Raiders win a playoff game, so the price to bring Palmer back to the west coast was steep indeed. We find it hard to believe that he’ll live up to his hefty price tag, but Palmer should be fine once he beats out Boller — which will probably have happened by the time you read this. Grab Palmer in all formats and stash him for a tasty matchup.

The Wire Troll: It’s Tim Tebow Time

Well, what have we here? Painter threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns — without a pick — against Kansas City in Week Five, thus solidifying his hold on the Colts’ starting job. There’s a downside here, though: 237 of Painter’s yards came in the first half, and that kind of inconsistency should be expected as he adapts to the NFL. He is making progress, though, and as long as he’s at the helm of the Colts’ weapon-laden offense, he’s worthy of consideration in larger Fantasy leagues. He faces a tough matchup in Cincy this week, but Painter is a serviceable option in two-quarterback leagues if one of your regulars is on a bye.

The Wire Troll: Jonesing for Jacoby

Yes, seriously. McNabb is off to a slow start this season, and has fallen out of whatever Fantasy favour he enjoyed at the beginning of the season. He did post decent numbers last week, though, and more of the same could be in store as he faces the porous Arizona pass defense, which has surrendered an average of 282 passing yards per game. Don’t look to McNabb to be much more than a one-week pickup, but if your regular signal-caller is on a bye the veteran could be worth a look.
