NBA Draft Recap: Tyrus Thomas

Thomas, considered by some to be the best player in the draft, redshirted in his first season at LSU, so was considered an unproven commodity heading into the 2005-06 campaign. But the Baton Rouge native was truly at home at college this season, quickly making the transition from bench player to starter and averaging close to a double-double in 25.9 minutes per game.

NBA Draft Recap: Andrea Bargnani

The 20-year-old Bargnani is a good athlete for his size, with a great jump shot and tremendous potential. He has excellent post skills, but is a very weak defender. However, given that the Raptors are morphing into Phoenix East and will aim to outgun their opponents 120-118 every night, Bargnani’s defensive issues won’t come into play as much as they would in a different environment. The kid isn’t much of a rebounder, either, and that’s something that will hopefully develop over time.
