RotoDerby July Update: Stuck in Tulo Turmoil

The strategy behind our “Peakers” team was to find guys that played on regular basis in 2013 that we believe could top their total homer output. There is plenty of youth on this team as well as some guys who have underachieved in recent years. We placed 225th for the month of July with 94 totals points. On the season, we are 390th overall with a point total of 437.

2014 MLB Draft Team Grades: AL West

What once appeared to be an embarrassment of riches for the Astros has turned into flat-out embarrassment. Aiken will not don an Astros uniform after a failed post-Draft physical sent everything spiraling and the Astros never got him signed before the deadline. That will put more significance on the development of their other top picks, including Fisher, a fast-improving hitter who was a sixth-round pick by the Rangers in 2011.

Draftster Recommendations: July 29

There’s good reason for CarGo to be so discounted considering all the injuries this year have limited him to 10 homers in his worst season since he was a rookie with the A’s. He missed two games this weekend because of an ankle woe, came back Monday and looked very rusty (0-for-4 with two Ks), dropping his BA to a butt-ugly .152 mark over the last 20 games. So why in the hell would we recommend the struggling Gonzalez? Well, how about his career 7-for-9 mark with six RBI against Jackson? Climb aboard the CarGo express at such an inexpensive cost.

The Wire Troll: Emilio Bonifacio Second to None

Brush those trade rumours aside, Mr. Ackley, we don’t think you’ll be going anywhere. You may, however, find some new Fantasy owners after your torrid July, which includes a .358 average, 814 OPS, and five RBIs. No, Ackley’s season numbers don’t wow you, but the former No. 2 overall draft pick seems to be finding his stroke as of late.
