This kid showed incredible moxie during the Giants’ World Series run last season and always seems to be in the middle of the action when things are going well, as evidenced by Friday’s walk-off single against the Angels. Panik doesn’t provide much in the power department, but is steady in terms of average and RBI.

Speaking of third basemen with spiking ESPN ownership (he’s up nearly 25 percentage points in the last week), Middlebrooks is starting to show moderate flashes of what the Red Sox had long hoped for. He’s hit safely in 10 of 11 games and has shown some pop with three homers and 11 RBI, even throwing in a couple of stolen bases for good measure.

Beltre is getting long in the tooth, but remains one of the safest options at third base. He got off to a bit of a slow start in 2015 before snapping a mini skid. Many believe that Beltre will really regress this year, and certainly the power drop off last year was worrisome, but we’ll believe it when we see it. We’re definitely expecting his BA to dip after last year’s .345 BABIP, but otherwise he’ll be a very productive option once again.
