He signed with Boston as a free agent last offseason, and while things were shaky at the outset (485 OPS in April), he enjoyed a very productive May before coming back to usual career levels this month. No, Renfroe is not hitting with the same extra-base sock this season, but his K rate is at a career low, and that’s an approach that should help him get back to his 2018-19 levels. Grab him in all formats.

Lagares missed most of April with an injury before flashing some extra-base sock last month, and while he’s struggling to hit in June so far, the opportunity is there, making him worth considering in deeper AL-only leagues. Maybe he can make a bigger impact than simply busting up windows in Oakland.

Adrianza isn’t exactly seizing his opportunity either, but at least he had drawn walks in three straight (adding a hit on Wednesday) and putting up another hit Friday. He’s actually already seen nearly as much action as he did last year with the Twins and he’s hitting better. Not great… but better. Adrianza has definitely shown he can provide periodic offensive sparks off the bench, but as a starter, there are questions. Still, as a short-term option in a very deep NL-only league, he’s worth a flier.

Miller is hardly killing it, but has three hits (including a double) over the last two games, so let’s see how things play out for this rookie. So far, he’s barely above replacement player level, but after murdering Triple-A pitching (.406 BA, .609 SLG) to begin the season, he’s worth a flier in AL-only leagues.

On Friday, he was the hero with a two-run triple (his second hit of the game) being the difference in extra innings. This minor league veteran was taken in the 11th round by the Giants back in 2013 before being signed as a minor league free agent by the Mets in early January last year. It’s super early days, but the fact that Fargas has managed to cut his swinging strike rate from Triple-A is a promising sign, so while the Mets are battered, give him a look in deep NL-only formats.

If you’re desperate at the always tough to fill catcher slot, Knapp has managed three hits and four walks over the last three games, but he’s shown almost no extra-base sock so far this season. For what it’s worth, he’s seeing fewer split-finger fastballs this year after having a bit of success against the pitch last year. As a temporary NL-only option, you could do worse than using Knapp until Realmuto returns.

As discussed in our intro, Limet is hurt again, and Weathers made a strong claim to take advantage by limiting the powerful Dodgers to a single hit over 5 2/3 frames on Thursday. With shutout ball in back-to-back starts, Weathers is suddenly in the early stages of a fantastic rookie season. He had appeared out of the bullpen three times to begin the season, but if he can secure a rotation slot, he could very quickly become a must-own asset. Weathers is inducing plenty of ground balls early on, and that’s a promising trend.
