With the World Series in the rear view mirror, we’re now heavily into the MLB awards season, and earlier this week the AL and NL Silver Sluggers were announced. Video Game Review: Kinect Sports Season Two

It’s tough to assign a blanket number to a collection of mini games that each control differently, but as a group they hold up pretty well. The sensor tracked my movements nicely, and with few exceptions it kept the action moving when people shuffled in and out during multiplayer sessions. I did find navigating some of the menus to be overly finicky, though, particularly when skipping tutorials and celebrations. Voice commands are also available and work as designed.

New York Yankees 2011 Season Review

Ho hum. The Yankees took the American League East for the 11th time in 14 seasons, but were unable to get back to the ALCS, suffering a five-game defeat to the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS. When they dropped that final game 3-2 at Yankee Stadium, it marked the first time the Yanks had suffered a one-run loss at home to knock them out of the playoffs since the 1926 World Series.
