Jarred Kelenic is getting another shot with the Seattle Mariners.

The Wire Troll: Another Chance for Jarred Kelenic

Kelenic definitely has power, even if he’s not hitting the ball quite as hard as he did last year. Even so, if this still just 23-year-old kid can ever figure out a way to make better contact, his Triple-A numbers suggest he can be an across-the-board stud. Bear in mind that Kelenic’s hit tool graded at 65 just two years ago, making him a real post-hype sleeper.

Garrett Cooper is hitting well down the stretch for the Miami Marlins.

The Wire Troll: Garrett Cooper Could Help Down the Stretch

Maton may only be a part-time player, but he actually warrants some attention in very deep NL-only leagues if for no other reason than the pop he’s flashed this season. With another hit on Thursday, he’s now slugging .667 and has already managed nearly as many hits this month as he had in the entire month of August. In fact, Maton’s hitting suggests he deserves more action, and as recently as a few days ago, it seemed the Phillies agreed with that assessment. This bears watching.

Lane Thomas is heating up for the Washington Nationals.

The Wire Troll: Lane Thomas Heating Up for Nats

Unfortunately, the elite walk rate Thomas flashed last year seems like an outlier this season, but again, things are turning around now as he’s already drawn a half dozen free passes this month. A 2014 fifth round pick by Toronto, he wasn’t a hyped prospect in his draft year, but his blend of power and decent speed could help elevate him past projections as a fourth outfielder, and into a player that could provide a decent return on your Fantasy investment. If Thomas’s walk rate bounces back next season, consider him a sleeper in OBP leagues.

Jordan Lyles has been a consistent winner for the Baltimore Orioles.

The Wire Troll: Jordan Lyles Racking Up Wins in B-More

Bradish was simply molested earlier this season, but since returning to the Orioles in late-July, he’s been very good, lowering his ERA in six straight appearances, including eight shutout innings against the powerful Astros on Friday. With a 3.21 ERA and just 30 hits allowed in 33 2/3 IP over this stretch, he deserves some Fantasy love.

Elvis Andrus could prove useful for the Chicago White Sox.

The Wire Troll: Elvis Andrus Has Left the Bay

A two-time All-Star, Andrus actually went yard the day before getting his walking papers, but he had cooled significantly in August after a solid performance last month. He’s been more productive this season, but is still nowhere near his peak in 2017. Andrus definitely gives the Pale Hose more depth at shortstop, and for the time being, could be a useful AL-only asset. Let’s not forget that he is a superb athlete with speed and a bit of pop. However, how much is left in the tank remains an open question.
