From a story perspective, there are two big issues here — the fallout from AJ’s mistake (both between him and Clem, and the pair within the larger group) and the lurking surrounding raider clan that Marlon traded group members to. These storylines fuel each other, pushing beats forward as they swap the spotlight.

Vane is severely lacking in good ideas for the actual gameplay, lowlighted by the insufferably long penultimate zone where you and a group of other children push a giant orb around that manipulates the world as you move. It’s not that it’s a terrible idea, but it’s inadequate as a central theme for a section that accounts for nearly half the game.

Don’t look now, but Atlanta’s first rounder from last season is starting to pay major dividends. In 39 minutes on Friday, Huerter went off for a career-high 29 points with five three-pointers, three assists and two steals. His minutes are way up lately (36.5 MPG over the last five), and he’s been sinking more and more buckets as the season has gone on. How about Huerter’s 38 per cent season percentage from beyond the arc? The dude was the man at Maryland, but not really a household name nationally. But the way he’s filling it up from downtown, he seems driven to change that now that he’s a pro.

Starting back-to-back games this week, Nilsson showed a bend but don’t break mentality, giving up plenty of juicy rebounds, but only two goals allowed on 67 shots faced over the pair of contests. Recently traded from Vancouver, he now has a chance to play more often and is taking advantage so far, with a 2.25 GAA since joining the Sens. And for what it’s worth, both Nilsson’s Corsi For and Fenwick For percentages have risen since heading east.

For the season, he’s averaging close to a block and a steal, and has knocked down four threes in his last two games. There’s enormous potential upside to DJJ as one of the more athletic guys on the Miami roster.
