The Wire Troll: Damyean Dotson, Three Pointers and Trade Rumours

The 2015 NCAA Champion has been scoring, rebounding, dropping dimes and – over the last week – averaging a block a game. On both Friday and Saturday, Winslow put up monster lines, flirting with triple doubles in each. He has potential to get double-doubles, but don’t count on them being a regular occurrence. Despite coming off the bench most of the time, Winslow is trusted with solid minutes (28.4 per game) and is likely to produce decent numbers on a consistent basis.

The Wire Troll: Jeremy Lauzon Logging Minutes in Boston

Yes, McElhinney is now hurt, so this is not a pickup if you need immediate help. But assuming it’s not a long-term concern, he’s definitely worth a look as he’s seen the bulk of the starts for the Hurricanes and has performed extremely well. Before taking a shellacking on Wednesday, McElhinney had a run of five straight games giving up two or fewer goals, and it’s clear he’s going to fly past the 15 starts he made for the Leafs last season, especially now that Scott Darling has been sent down to the minors.

Blu-ray Review: Mission: Impossible — Fallout

There are some brilliant set pieces in Fallout. The kind you go back and watch multiple times just to appreciate how well constructed they are. At the top of the list are the incredible fight in a Paris nightclub’s bathroom, and the operation to liberate Lane from police custody. There’s just such an organic intensity there, and it’s hard not to get fired up watching them.

The Wire Troll: Terrence Ross is Hot… Again?

Over his last four games, Plumlee has two double-doubles, eight blocks (including four in one game), five steals and 39 points — not bad overall totals, although he did have a damn dud of a game against the Blazers on Friday with three points. Plumlee’s biggest downfall is his free throw shooting (46 per cent), but he can be a solid backup centre in deeper category leagues. He’s a constant double-double threat and a consistent shot-blocker; both categories that can be tough to fill, so his contributions can be huge if applied in the right format.

The Wire Troll: Alex Chiasson Accumulating Goals for Oilers

Chiasson potted his 11th goal in 19 games on Thursday, giving him three goals and an assist over the last four games. He was an afterthought in Washington last season, but is playing a much bigger role for the Oilers. No, Chiasson’s ridiculously good 35.5 shooting percentage won’t continue, but he brings last season’s Stanley Cup experience to a club that needs to learn how to win.

Blu-ray Review: The Nun

One thing that has always stood out in films from the Conjuring universe is quality acting, a relatively rare thing in the horror genre. That continues here with Bichir, who we loved in The Bridge, heading a solid slate of performances for all three primary characters. Jonas is likable and gets to add what little levity there is, and Taissa ably projects strength, faith and vulnerability at the centre of it all.
