Video Game Review: Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch DLC

Easily the highlight of Baba Yaga, however, is the final battle. It’s unlike anything we saw in Rise, weaving in the mystical elements to create a heartier enemy to square off against. There’s a healthy dose of shooting, jumping, dodging, climbing and pretty much everything else that makes these games so enjoyable. Kudos to whoever designed that showdown.

In This War of Mine your group finds itself living in Pogoren, a fictional city under siege, though one that’s clearly based in Eastern Europe. Your task is simple: survive. Accomplishing that task is anything but simple, however, as you’ll need to maximize resources, scavenge for food, weapons and more, defend your home, barter with other survivors, treat wounds, find time to rest and so on.

Video Game Review: Cobalt

At the heart of the game is a mix of modest platforming, exploration and timing-based combat. When it all comes together it can be very enthralling as you fend off enemies, deftly deflecting bullets and smacking explosives back at your foes. Exploration is usually rewarded with new items, ammunition or additional in-game currency.

Video Game Review: Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India

Reach a checkpoint, stealth or fight some guards, pick up some collectibles, repeat. Despite some slightly better level design — including some sections that focus more on parkour — India faces a lot of the same repetitive issues that China faced. Even with nicer production values, the game is still blocked off into small segments of stealth or combat or parkour.
