The Wire Troll: Benoit Pouliot Produces in Unproductive Edmonton

In 419 career games, Pouliot has 92 goals, 186 points and a plus-47 rating over the course of nine seasons with Minnesota, Montreal, Boston, Tampa Bay, New York (Rangers) and Edmonton. His best points-per-game season came in the lockout shortened 2013 campaign with the Lightning in which he collected eight goals, 20 points and a plus-8 rating in 34 games. In regards to his highest number of points per season, Pouliot set a career high of 36 (15 goals, 21 assists) and seven power play goals in 80 games with the Rangers last season. A solid playoff run with five goals, 10 points and a plus-8 rating in 25 postseason games elevated him as an intriguing option on the free agent market.

Panthers Aiming to Spook Bruins?

The Panthers last reached the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2012 when they were beaten by the Devils in the Conference quarterfinals. Having endured a disappointing run since, they will be desperate to make a return in 2015 and their fans will be happy to take any advantage that they can over their rivals. Whether the stacking of the roster with men who have history with the Bruins was a preconceived plan, or whether it is just coincidence, the Panthers will be hoping that it gives them a psychological edge and is enough to make the difference this time around.

Comeau had a three-game drought there, but still has three goals and six points in as many games since returning from an upper-body injury that saw him miss a considerable amount of time. He had two goals, three points, a plus-3 rating, four penalty minutes, a game-winning goal, 13 shots on goal, 17 hits and three blocked shots last week. Comeau has 14 goals, 25 points and a plus-10 rating in 38 games.
