Video Game Review: Tecmo Bowl Throwback

Tecmo has faithfully recreated the two-button control scheme, assigning the functions to the side-by-side A-B buttons on the Xbox 360 controller. You’ll also use X and Y in the playbook screen, but they are not utilized during gameplay. The only real new addition is the ability to switch between classic 2D and updated 3D graphics by hitting the right bumper. This can be done before or during a play, and in 3D mode you can toggle the camera view by pressing the left bumper.

Where there shouldn’t be any debate is in choosing between pretzels and brownies. Damn, get ‘em both! You can never have enough snacks for the Splendid Bowl. I mean, crap…what’s the worst thing that will happen? You’ll have leftovers? Oh no. Imagine a far more damaging scenario: running out of snacks.

2009 RotoRob Football Awards

Rodgers is an absolute machine offensively, passing for 4,199 yards and 29 touchdowns against only seven picks with one game left to play. He makes big plays, is willing to stand in the pocket (sometimes too long) and take hits to deliver a pass. Rodgers’ most underrated skill is his scrambling ability, where he leads all quarterbacks with 314 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

An Open Letter to Fantasy Football Owners

Despite the fact that the Saints are a win away from locking up home field throughout and a bye, they seem to be leaning towards playing out each game with starters. But, since they lost their undefeated status, they may start to limit reps if in Week 17 if they have nothing to play for. All Saints seem to be a safe play this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Video Game Review: Madden NFL Arcade

As far as executing the moves I felt there was a slight delay between when I jabbed the right stick for a juke and when it took place. For better or worse that split second seems to make it more about anticipating than reacting, so for me it took a little while to get the timing down. Also of minor annoyance is that the game’s default controller setting is “arcade,” meaning you’ll need to change it before playing each time you load up the game since it won’t save your preference.
