Another source of treys — although perhaps not with Valentine’s upside — is wily old veteran Korver. Korver bounced back from an ugly shooting night Tuesday to can 4-of-6 three pointers on Thursday en route to 15 points, two boards, two assists and a steal in 25 minutes. His touches are a bit down lately, but overall have risen this month. Korver has more or less been just a bench player since coming to Cleveland, but his overall numbers this season are down only a smidge over what he did last season.

The Wire Troll: Mike James Should Rise in Phoenix

This is a dude that is seemingly always on the periphery of Fantasy value, making for a good waiver wire pickup at various times during the season. On Friday, Williams showed his upside, with 17 points, nine rebounds, three treys, one assist, one steal and one block. His three-point shooting is a chief allure, but has been a bit down lately, so it was great to see him go off. Williams is seeing more minutes lately, and while hasn’t been jacking up quite as many treys, he remains an elite FT shooter. If he starts hoisting treys at the same rate as he did in the last two seasons, his value will rise significantly. The big issue for owners here is Williams’s lack of consistency. That’s frustrating when you see him throw up periodic sweet lines like on Friday and the previous Friday (16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, with six boards, two steals and a block).

The Wire Troll: Mario Chalmers Starting For Memphis

Yes, Simmonds hurt his quad and may not play Saturday, but it’s hard to overlook the 14 shots he put up in just 24 minutes on Friday. If he can get to the line a bit more often, it feels like he’s on the cusp of a breakout. Simmonds’s touches are down this month, so that’s why Friday’s effort buoyed our hopes. We can see him becoming one of the better sixth men for the remainder of the season, especially given his improved shooting.

The Wire Troll: Aron Baynes Burying Buckets in Beantown

It was impressive. Rozier didn’t shoot well, yet still went off for 15 points with seven rebounds, four assists, two treys and two steals. Coming off a 14-point effort in the previous game, you can see that his scoring is starting to come around, making him a nice target. Always a bench player, Rozier could get a chance to start if Irving is sidelined, but even if he remains in the second unit, he’s sinking more buckets this season.

A dude that always seems to be in the middle of some kind of scuffle, Oubre broke out with 19 points, eight boards, four treys, two blocks and two steals on Friday. That’s the kind of effort that gets you noticed in Fantasy circles. He has generally been durable and seems to have really developed his outside game this season (averaging two three-pointers), so it’s time to scoop him off the wire.
