Video Game Review: RBI Baseball ’16

For what should be a fun, enjoyable game that you can jump right into, RBI’s controls have an awfully steep learning curve. Looks can be deceiving. Balls don’t end up where you think they will, nor do players react how you think they should. You can’t remap the controls, which is disappointing, because that might provide some shortcuts that would help you enjoy the game more.

Video Game Review: EA Sports UFC 2

While UFC 2 offers far more ways to play than its predecessor, its Career Mode is nearly identical, which is a disappointment. You once again make your way through The Ultimate Fighter, earning a contract with UFC and starting your ascent through the ranks. Early on you’ll be given three potential fights to choose from, though as your career takes off the game will sometimes mandate opponents.

As Jack Joyce, you’re able to unleash a modest yet effective array of powers. You can create a bubble that slows everything within it, generate an explosive rift that deals area damage, dodge rapidly, conjure a shield that deflects incoming projectiles and execute a sustained sprint that brings the world around you to virtual standstill, allowing you to pound hapless victims with a melee strike.
