In fact, after catching in the low minors, Schwarber was playing left field exclusively by the time he got to High-A Daytona. Stinnett has improved since being taken in the late rounds by the Pirates last year, as the 6’4” righty has a power arm but may be more suited to be a reliever at this point because of mechanical concerns. Sands, on the other hand, is much more consistent at repeating his delivery and can reach the mid-90s with his fastball. He also features a very good 12-to-6 curve.

The Wire Troll: Miguel Gonzalez Grooving for B-More

In his last three starts, he’s only given up 14 hits, four earned runs and three walks while fanning 13 in 19 1/3 IP. He’s won twice and taken a hard-luck loss. Gonzalez, part of a very cheap Orioles rotation (except for that Jimenez dude), seems to do enough to put himself in line for some wins given how strong the B-More offense is, so give him a look in deeper mixed leagues and add him in AL-only formats.

The Wire Troll: Jon Jay Plays His Cards Right

Jay’s good friend Freese is starting to show the Angels what the Cardinals got glimpses of prior to trading him. Mr. October (2011) has turned it around after a very slow start, posting a .300 average in August with seven RBI. His season numbers are pedestrian (.259, six homers, 41 RBI), but when you consider he was hitting just .203 at the end of May, his stock is headed in the right direction.

2014 MLB Draft Grades: NL East

Anderson, committed to Southern Miss, is more of a defensive catcher at the moment, but could develop his power if he adds some bulk to his 6’3”, 180-pound frame. Twine is a rather intriguing prospect. He was considered one of the best Texas high school running quarterbacks, once rushing for 534 yards in a single game. Also a track star, Twine has premier speed and athleticism, and now needs to find a way to translate that into stardom on the baseball diamond.

Forte is starting to age in running back years (28), but fear not, his skills appear to be as sharp as ever. He has missed just five games in six seasons, and last year he set career highs in rushing yards (1,339), rushing touchdowns (nine), first downs (74), receptions (74) and receiving yards (594).
