He managed a career high in at-bats, and oh baby, did he ever take advantage of them, winning the batting title and enjoying a power breakthrough. Posey led the NL in WAR, proving he deserved the MVP by sabremetric criteria as well. His extra-base pop may have peaked, but he’s certainly capable of repeating what he did in 2012. Proving he’s just a damn nice guy to boot, Posey donated his MVP bonus to his old high school. He is also listed in our First Base Rankings, coming shortly.

2012-13 RotoRob NBA Draft Kit: Centre Rankings

Just like the Power Forward slot, Centre is deep this season. Obviously, you’re looking for boards, blocks and FG percentage here and – ideally – someone who doesn’t bring your FT numbers down too far. Keep that in mind if you wind up with Dwight Howard – either surround him with high percentage shooters or just screw the cat altogether.

While his season ended early because of a concussion, Love logged much more PT and shattered his previous high in scoring. His dimes dipped, but his blocks – still his sole Achilles’ heel from a Fantasy perspective – rose slightly. Love is obviously now one of the elite players in the NBA, but he sounds a bit miffed that the T-Wolves didn’t give him a maximum contract extension, so let’s hope that doesn’t spill onto the floor.

Last season, he stayed healthy and continued to improve his outside game, although he didn’t get as many points at the line and his FT percentage dropped to career worst levels. On the plus side, KD became a monster on the boards and also a pretty good contributor of assists. He’s done a good job the past couple of seasons of staying out of foul trouble and his scoring numbers bounced back somewhat last season. The key player of a young core in OKC which made it to the Finals last season, Durant just turned 24 last month, so there is still a ton of upside here, and that’s a scary proposition for the rest of the NBA.

2012-13 RotoRob NBA Draft Kit: Shooting Guard Rankings

Last season, Bryant reversed a trend of five straight seasons of declining play. He saw way more PT and put up his most shots per game since 2005-06 although he had his worst shooting season since he was a soph. Kobe made up for that with great work from the line, although the extra minutes translated into more turnovers. He heads a remade lineup that is brimming with stars and should burst out of the gates as one of the top teams in the NBA.

Lob City was born when CP3 came to town, and the Clippers immediately went from also-ran to the playoffs. Paul missed some time with some minor injuries, but he enjoyed a big bounce-back effort. He used his outside game more than ever, but also managed to get to the charity stripe more often. Paul continues to be an excellent source of steals as well as points, assists and treys. He’s dealing with a thumb injury that will cost him some preseason games, but when the regular season kicks off, expect Paul to be good to go, so don’t downgrade him at all unless the injury lingers well into October.

Davis has great athleticism and leaping ability that gives him the strength to finish under the bucket with other bigs on top of him. He can provide value as a starter for the Hornets and possibly lead the team in rebounds this season, but he will need to improve his decent mid-ranged jump shot. We believe Davis’ on-court maturity will be greater than the average rookie, but he will face struggles at first until he settles into a groove at this professional level.
