Speaking of veteran hurlers, few have anything on Colon, still chugging along at the age of 44. Splitting his duties between the pen and rotation, he’s been excellent in either role, most recently limiting the World Champion Astros to a single hit over 7 2/3 IP. Colon has no record yet, but his 0.70 WHIP, 1.45 ERA and superb K/BB rate scream for Fantasy attention. He barely tops 90 on the radar gun these days, but considering how crap he was last year, this latest renaissance is truly remarkable.

The Wire Troll: Brian Johnson Back in BoSox Rotation

Another forward looking recommendation, Tate could easily play a role for the Yanks in the second half. The righty was dominant in his season debut at Double-A, striking out nearly a batter per frame while doing a splendid job of inducing groundballs. Tate may find himself outgrowing this level fairly quickly now that he’s back to his pre-draft form that made him the fourth overall pick in 2015.

The Wire Troll: Trevor Williams Effectively Wild for Pirates

Lucchesi sure looked sharp in his second start on Thursday, hurling five shutout frames with just one hit allowed. The rookie has yet to give up a homer through 40 batters faced this season, and his 2.79 ERA through a pair of starts deserves some Fantasy attention. Last year, Lucchesi racked up a ton of Ks at High-A before moving on to Double-A, where he kept winning. He hasn’t gotten much attention up to this point, but is certainly worth a speculative pickup now to see how this plays out.

Despite continued regression in his ISO, Posey can still rake with the best of them, batting .320 last year, for his highest mark since his monster 2012 season. The hits may not find their way over the fence as often as they used to, but they still come very frequently. Is there a better pure hitting catcher in the game today? Not for our money.
