Easily the most robust addition to the activities roster is drone racing. Although you will be called upon to use your drone during some story sections, the racing element is entirely optional and highly involved as parts for upgrading your drone are strewn about Kamurocho. The races above the city’s streets are fun, and beefing up your racer can be an addicting time waster.

Video Game Review: Life is Strange 2, Episode 3

All of this comes in a package that is a little shorter than the previous episodes in the series, and the attention is split in two different ways. Of course, the relationship between Sean and Daniel is there, but that occasionally takes a backseat to new secondary characters. In fact, sometimes the story drifts into a focus on these new characters out in parts of California that are a far cry from Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Video Game Review: Sniper Elite v2 Remastered

Luckily, the game is still fun when taking part in its signature activity: sniping. Your heart rate is shown in the corner of the screen, and when you’re calm you can “empty your lungs,” which slows time and creates a precise firing point. Snapping off those rounds and watching the bullet sail through the air to pierce your hapless target remains as fun now as it was in 2012.

Video Game Review: Mortal Kombat 11

To its credit, the game offers up a robust tutorial system that starts with the basics and keeps adding more layers to what you can do. If you’re struggling with timing or execution it’s a great place to go and clean up your technique — the option to view a demo of any move, including how to time your inputs, can be very helpful. In addition to the general tutorials, there’s also character-specific ones available to help you learn individual moves.
