At 34, J.J.’s still got it. Some recent minor groin issues kept Barea out of the lineup briefly, but he’s made a quick recovery and has been cleared to play since Wednesday. In first game back, he managed 18 points to go along with seven assists off the bench against the Nets. Averaging 15.5 points and five assists over his last four games, Barea is playing better than a large portion of PGs that are owned in all standard leagues. He may not be able to maintain this level of play for long, but it’s time to find some good times with J.J.

As arguably the best player on his team, this might be your top potential pick up of the year… just kidding. With all the star power in Oakland, Iggy is still gettin’ his. He will hold more value in category leagues as a consistent two way player that provides some across the board production. Don’t expect Iguodala’s numbers to go through the roof. But, at the same time, don’t turn a blind eye to his value based on who he plays with.

Need a big that can contribute some points and plenty of treys? Hernangomez could be your man. On Thursday, he went off for 23 points in 29 minutes, nailing five treys with four boards, two blocks and a steal. Hernangomez’s shooting from downtown is so vastly improved this season that he’s worth considering. He’s become more valuable each season since going 15th overall in 2016, and if he starts regularly getting 20 MPG or more, he’s ready to break out.

Jerebko played the hero, tipping in the game-winning bucket with 0.3 seconds to play. He’s never quite delivered on the promise of his first two seasons, but he’s periodically been a decent plug and play option as appears the case now with Iggy out. Just beware that Jerebko’s PT is likely to fluctuate greatly, so he’s a risky play, best limited to deep leagues or as a DFS option.

Just 20 years old, Allen established himself as a building block in Brooklyn with a strong rookie campaign. He only played 20 minutes per game, but his PT kept rising as the season progressed, as did his touches. Allen did a good job of getting to the line and showed nice potential on the offensive glass. Best of all, his 58.9 per cent field goal accuracy ranked second among all rookies that played at least 30 games. Allen should be a big-time sleeper heading into 2018-19.

The Wire Troll: Ramon Sessions Returns to Relevance

Johnson hasn’t necessarily enjoyed the breakout that many anticipated, but you’ve got to love his work in the thefts department. On Thursday, he had four steals, and last week he enjoyed a five-swipe game. Johnson isn’t sinking as many buckets lately and his rebounding has dipped in each of the last three months, but if you need steals, he can help. He’s done a better job of getting to the line this season, and that’s a trend that will have to continue if he’s going to enjoy a real breakout. Johnson likes to tease owners by showing real ability in the supporting stats from time to time, and that makes him difficult to own over the long haul.
