Video Game Review: Fable III

The right analog stick moves the camera around, which while common doesn’t feel quite right. It just seems a bit sluggish in combat when you’re usually squaring off against numerous foes and sometimes need to create some separation. Hitting the left bumper resets the camera behind you, though it’s hardly an organic controller motion to make on the fly.

Video Game Review: NBA Jam

Where the new version branches out is with the Remix Tour. Here each NBA team presents a series of three challenges (bronze, silver and gold) that need to be completed to earn points, which are then used to unlock other divisions. It is within this tour that the new game modes are introduced. For example, one addition called Domination has teams trying to acquire and then protect spots on the court as each spot you own allows you rack up points. Another pits three-to-four players against each other in a free-for-all where the lowest score is eliminated every two minutes.

Video Game Review: WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011

There appear to have been some minor advancements graphically as wrestler models looked a bit sharper this year. Animations continue to be very strong, particularly when executing moves or transitioning between holds — it can be a bit clunky when strikes are involved. The addition of Havoc physics lends more tangible mass to the game’s various foreign objects, and it makes for some cool moments even though you’re sure to see glitches pop up as well.
