Report: Major Deal Almost Consummated
According to an article in the New York Post on Friday, Gerald Wallace almost became a Laker.
Wallace, who re-signed with the Bobcats last week, would have been a key ingredient in a three-team deal that would have sent Lamar Odom to the Nets, Richard Jefferson to the ‘Cats and Crash to the Lakers, the Post reports.
League sources say the Nets were “very close” to pulling the trigger on this trade a few weeks ago, but Michael Jordan, part-owner of the Bobcats, put the kibosh on the deal.
