The Jays sure changed their tune quick when it came to Vernon Wells. It looked like Wells would certainly be traded after GM J.P. Ricciardi claimed that Toronto wouldn’t be able to handle a “Beltran-type deal.” So imagine our surprise when the Jays wound up giving Wells even more than Beltran got.
