Video Game Review: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Although it won’t go down among the best RPG stories, Dragon Quest XI does more than enough with its plot to keep you moving forward, and the constant metering out of rewards and loot encourages no shortage of secondary exploration and completing of side missions. There’s tons of content here, a good bit of which opens up after you finish the main game.

Video Game Review: Shenmue I & II

To be clear, Shenmue I & II are absent most modern conveniences, often making for a very deliberate experience where you’ll need to have multiple conversations to track down a location only to find it closed or the person you’re supposed to meet gone. It may feel quaint initially, but when the time spent milling about waiting for in-game hours to pass starts to pile up it can become rather taxing.

Of course, the heart of a TellTale game is its story, and what this season presents so far is the story of a generation growing up in the zombie apocalypse. Clem has taken the role of mentor over young AJ, and her journey leads her to a fortified school filled with students, mostly around the same age.
