Now’s the time of year that Fantasy teams that are out contention in dynasty leagues start scouring the minors for future help. Lowe, the Rays’ 13th round pick in 2016, is one minor leaguer that’s made a huge jump this season. He began the year at High-A, flashing great extra-base power, before a promotion to Double-A in late-June. At Double-A, Lowe upped his walk rate and was even more impressive, earning a bump up to Triple-A about a week and a half ago, holding his own since the move. We really love his improved contact rates this season. This is a 22-year-old dude that hasn’t received the airplay most top prospects get, but he’s quietly had a superb season. Now is the time to jump on Lowe’s train.

The Wire Troll: Domingo Santana Scorching in Minors

Toussaint was scratched from his scheduled start at Triple-A on Friday as he’s expected to be recalled to make his MLB debut on Monday as part of Atlanta’s doubleheader against the Marlins. Arizona’s 2014 first round pick, traded to the Braves in June 2015, was pitching very well at Double-A, earning a promotion to Triple-A last month. Since then, Toussaint has gone undefeated through five starts, proving harder to hit than ever. This may be just a one-off start, but if you’re streaming pitchers, he’s a great choice. And who knows? Maybe Toussaint will stick.

The Wire Troll: Travis Jankowski Could Get More PT for Padres

Another reliever that’s getting a chance to start is Gomber, who looked very sharp in a spot start against the Reds a couple of weeks ago. He’ll take the bump again on Saturday in Pittsburgh, and we think he might make for a sneaky DFS value play. The rookie, taken in the fourth round in 2014, has enjoyed superb hit rates with a solid ERA while going undefeated to date. Gomber has a great pitcher’s build (6’5″, 205), which (other than a minor woe last year) has allowed him to stay durable so far in his pro career.

The Wire Troll: Yasmany Tomas Rediscovers His Pop

JBJ has had a lost season, but as the break came, he was finally starting to show signs of life, hitting safely is six of his last seven, driving in runs in three straight and hitting doubles in back-to-back games. Yes, the former Cape Cod Leaguer sat Friday, but given his glovework, he’s going to be in the lineup most days, and frankly, he’s been a bit unlucky with the bat this year. After all, Bradley ranks 20th in the bigs in hard hit percentage, so clearly he’s still smoking the ball. We predict that the offensive freefall he’s experienced over the last year and a half ends in the second half, making him a fine buy-low candidate.

The Wire Troll: Young Hurlers on the Way

Here’s a kid that hasn’t quite started to pop up on the Fantasy radar, but his performance this season will change that — at least from a Dynasty league perspective. Atlanta’s second rounder from 2016 began the season at Class-A, going undefeated with a stellar 2.40 ERA through 30 innings. It was enough for the Braves to fast track Muller to High-A, where his hit rates are up, but he still hasn’t been taken yard through 11 starts and 61 1/3 IP. Coming off a seven-inning, 12-strikeout shutout performance, he could soon be ready for Double-A the way things are going. This lefty can be dominant, and needs to be plucked in Dynasty formats.
