Rocknfunk

Rocknfunk,

Have the best team. Don’t ride the waiver wire like it is the city bus. Too many stops on and off usually means you pick someone up after they are hot and they will cool off the second you get them. The waiver wire is like the stock market — and most people don’t make good day traders because they buy when it is doing good which means they missed the buy low point and bought it on a high.

Look to trade someone that is overvalued like Church or Santana. They are doing great — in May. But, their three-year splits show they are most likely going to slump back down to Earth pretty quickly. But low, sell high. Pick up the break-out guy, but don’t jump on everything that looks good over the past week. Look at the past month and see what the difference is between the week and month totals.

Free Agent Redux, Part Four

Okay, time to tackle the National League. Is it just me or has this become a bit of tome? Ah, that’s okay…who doesn’t love a good tome? (Don’t anPrevious parts: One, Two, Three. Arizona: The D-Backs, filled with young talent already, were very quiet this offseason as far as free agency went, their only move […]

The Wire Troll: Jack’s Back

May 25, 2008 | by Tim McLeod | Comments (10)
Jack Wilson, Pittsburgh, SS: With the relative shortage of middle infielders currently available, the return of Wilson, out since the first week of the season with a strained calf, could provide some marginal relief. The potential for a solid batting average and moderate power would make Wilson a decent option in both deep formats and […]
