Fantasy Notes: Tyner Time
- Jason Tyner has no power (he’s never hit a home run in 325 big league games after crushing all of two in 3,059 minor league at-bats), he’s not much of a basestealer, very little extra-base potential, doesn’t draw many walks and he’s not much of a run producer (not a shock given his spot in the batting order — usually eighth). All he does is hit. He’s hit at least .304 in every month he’s been with the Twins this season. He also hits .325 against righties, putting him on the strong side of a platoon-type situation. So if BA is your thing, Tyner will never hurt you. Twins’ expert Aaron Gleeman says Tyner will be the team’s fourth outfielder next year.
